Here at FxPro, we’re delighted to offer our clients the opportunity to trade CFDs on Hang Seng Index. It is the most important stock exchange index of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is calculated as the weighted average of the largest capitalized shares of 34 Hong Kong joint-stock companies, which make up to 65% of the total listed volume. The author of the index is considered the national banker Stanley Kwan. The calculation of the Hang Seng began on November 24, 1969, by HSI Services Limited. This company currently collects, publishes and analyzes information for #HONGKONG50 and a number of other stock indices, such as the Hang Seng Composite, the Hang Seng HK MidCap, etc. The base value was 100 points as the actual equivalent of the value of shares on July 31, 1964. The lowest Hang Seng China Enterprises Index level of 58.61 points was reached on August 31, 1967, calculated retroactively. The historical maximum was 20971,46 points on January 24, 2007. The Hang Seng passed over 10’000 points on December 6, 1993, for the first time in its history. 13 years later, it was 20’000 points on December 28, 2006. Today this index is subject to the observations of many traders in the world. If you want to diversify your trader’s portfolio, take a closer look at the price fluctuations of Hong Kong 50.
